Description
Canisius High School in Buffalo, NY, seeks an instrumental music teacher to commence in the 2024-2025 school year. Responsibilities: (The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Others may be assigned, subject to reasonable accommodations.) • Direct school instrumental ensembles • Collaborate with the department to regularly present student performances • Work with the department in the development of curriculum • Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives • Participate in the extracurricular life of the students and the school. • Act as a personal example of the “Grad at Grad” qualities to which we call our students: open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to promoting justice
Requirements
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in music education, music performance, or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency as an instrumentalist and as a conductor
Preferred qualifications:
• Master’s degree in music education, music performance, or a related field
• Experience in teaching music at the high school level
