Description
Saint Bernard School in Uncasville, CT is seeking a dedicated Music Teacher/Director to lead and nurture a comprehensive music program for students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate will inspire students through performance and collaboration, while encouraging their discovery of a love of music in support of the school\'s mission and community. The curricula followed by the Saint Bernard School Music Department\'s course offerings provide sequential instruction framed by the National Standards for Music Education. Responsibilities: * Teach vocal/general and instrumental music to students in grades 6 and 7. * Direct and conduct the choral and instrumental ensembles for students in grades 8 -12 * Plan and produce two annual major music department performances (Christmas and Spring) * Supervise student leaders in the selection of music for all school Masses and liturgical celebrations * Prepare and support students for participation in the annual Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) adjudication and concert festivals * Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom and rehearsal environment Qualifications: * Teaching certification required * Prior teaching experience preferred * Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills * Ability to work collaboratively within a school community Prospective candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, current resume, and list of 3 professional references to email below.
