Teaching Assistant (Music)

Description

The role of the Music Teaching Assistant is to provide, under the direction of a certified music teacher, specialized and direct instructional and support services to choral music students (i.e. chorus part checks, testing assistance, AV/TV, tiered formative music assessments, daily piano accompaniments, management of chorus materials, and other areas as needed). Because of large class sizes in chorus, the Music Teaching Assistant is integral in differentiating and supporting instruction and monitoring student achievement; they must demonstrate strong musical and piano skills in order to be effective in this work.

Requirements

Must have NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant - Level I, Level II or Level III or have NYS certification as a teacher
