Where Is Long Lake?: Long Lake Camp for the Arts, in the middle of the gorgeous Adirondack Park of upstate NY. Long Lake, NY, 12847. We are a private estate summer camp with waterfront property and excellent housing, many music studios, fine arts studios and performing spaces. What Will I do?: Instrument teacher and bunk counselor, one each for the following instruments: Flute Strings- Violin primarily plus knowledge of other stringed instruments a bonus. Vocals, need to play piano as teaching tool with vocalists. Guitar You will be offering private instruction to musicians ages 8 to 16 from beginners through advanced. We have a very extensive Music department teaching all instruments. We offer children private classes in all levels and genres. Long Lake campers are self-choosing your studio to learn in, so they are dedicated and excited to be there to learn and develop a new or existing passion. You are surrounded by other musicians and artists and will become very quickly a member of our creative community. We have many Jazz bands, Orchestras, Rock Bands, Ensembles and more including our own recording studio. We produce many rock concerts, musicals, chamber concerts orchestral concerts and more every summer. As a music teacher you will also have the opportunity to perform yourself and have time for practice. We also produce many musicals so you will become a member of an orchestra pit. In addition to being a music teacher you will also be a bunk counselor living in the houses with the campers helping them with wake up, breakfast , lunch and diner and having great fun at our evening activities like chamber concerts, performing arts nights and rock concerts. Who. We need passionate talented musicians, either education or studio majors, graduates or undergrads. You must be friendly and of course like children. You must wish to share your love of music with the campers and like the idea of having your own music studio for the summer. You must be able to sight read and enjoy playing in Jazz bands, orchestras and musical pit orchestras and possibly rock bands! You must be able to play and teach your instrument/s to a high standard. What do I get: Salary plus: You will live for free, free food, accommodation and we do your laundry for you, plus we pay a good summer camp salaries for the summer.
