We are looking for a reliable, creative, and compassionate educator to teach voice and piano lessons to kids, teens, and adults in Huntington, NY. The ideal candidate is passionate about music education, loves working with children, and understands the positive impact music can have on a student’s confidence, creativity, and emotional growth. In this role, you will: Teach engaging weekly voice and piano lessons to kids, teens, and adults Create a positive, encouraging, and individualized learning experience for each student Adapt lessons to support a variety of learning styles, personalities, and student needs Prepare students for studio performances including the Student Spotlight Series, Holiday Playlist Showcase, and End of Year Showcase Help students record selections for their digital portfolios Arrive prepared and organized for lessons with appropriate materials and repertoire Collaborate with our team through quarterly inspiration meetings and regular communication in Slack Attributes for Success: We are seeking a team member who wholeheartedly believes that music can change lives. The Essentials: Ability to teach beginner and intermediate piano students musical concepts, technique, and theory using the Faber Series Ability to teach engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons for young beginners Ability to assess vocal technique and design exercises that support healthy vocal development and address areas of challenge Piano skills to effectively warm up and accompany voice students Knowledge of a variety of musical styles and genres in order to choose repertoire that is both level-appropriate and motivating for students Ability to teach audition preparation and performance skills Experience and confidence working with students of all ages and personalities Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to actively listen, build trust, and connect compassionately with students Current driver’s license and access to a car Hours of Work: We are currently looking for a teacher who is available to teach at least one of the following days: Tuesdays: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM Wednesdays: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thursdays: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM Fridays: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. There is an opportunity to add additional teaching days over time.
