Procedure
1. Students are provided with a set of teacher-selected examples of music used in support of different activist movements using a choice board (see attached)
2. Students select one or more topics to investigate. For each topic, students will listen to a representative musical example, read pertinent historical background information, and listen to a podcast describing the connections that musical example had to that activist movement.

Suggested Assessment
Students record a peer discussion in small groups to summarize what they learned.
Students answer a set of review questions highlighting key points.
