Description
Job Description: The District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Strings Teacher to join our music department. This full-time position includes providing string lessons, leading the elementary, middle, and high school orchestras and fostering a love for music in students across various grade levels. Responsibilities: • Direct and instruct the elementary, middle, and high school orchestra ensembles and small group lessons. • Lead and coordinate the orchestra ensembles, including rehearsals, performances, and competitions. • Direct the orchestras, selecting repertoire and preparing students for performances. • Develop engaging lesson plans that align with district and state music education standards. • Organize and oversee performances, concerts, and community events. • Encourage student participation in regional and state music festivals. • Maintain and manage equipment and music library.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• NYS Certification in Music Education (or eligibility for certification).
• Strong background in string instrumental music instruction and ensemble directing.
• Experience in orchestra ensemble leadership preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Passion for music education and commitment to student growth.
