Description

The Red Hook High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated choral director to lead a vibrant and inclusive vocal music program. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic music educator who fosters student growth, builds strong ensembles, and contributes actively to the school community. This is a permanent probationary position with a start date of September 1, 2025. Key Responsibilities: -Lead rehearsals and direct school concerts and performances throughout the academic year. -Inspire student engagement and build program enrollment through thoughtful recruitment and retention efforts. -Provide clear, constructive assessment and feedback to support student progress. -Support and direct extracurricular music opportunities, including preparation for NYSSMA festivals and other performance events. -Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and community partners on school-wide and arts-related initiatives. -Plan and organize rehearsals, performances, and classroom activities with professionalism and foresight. -Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that encourages creativity and supports a range of learners. -Integrate music with broader curricular themes and contribute to interdisciplinary learning. -Promote a love of music through an inclusive, encouraging classroom culture.
