Instrumental Music Teacher

Description

Rondout Valley CSD is seeking a full-time Instrumental Music Teacher to join our Middle School program. This position focuses primarily on 7th and 8th grade students, including: Concert Band Jazz Band Small group and individual lessons The successful candidate will also support beginning 4th grade band instruction, contributing to a vertically aligned music program. Rondout Valley has been recognized as a “Best Community for Music Education” for seven consecutive years, reflecting the district’s strong commitment to music and the arts.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Valid New York State Certification in Music
Fingerprint clearance through NYSED
Strong knowledge of instrumental pedagogy
Demonstrated effective rehearsal and ensemble techniques
High level of musicianship
Effective classroom management strategies
Commitment to continuous improvement, including seeking feedback and evaluation
Ability to work collaboratively within a comprehensive music program

Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in school and district music events and performances
Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels
Perform other duties as assigned by administration
