Job Number: HICN0378116-0040 Salary/Pay Scale: Application Deadline: 06/12/2026 Start Date: To Be Determined Job Description: Hicksville Public Schools seeks a qualified and energetic individual with a passion for elementary instrumental music for an anticipated full-time position. Qualified candidates should have a strong background in both band and string pedagogy. Bilingual (Spanish), and previous work with special needs students is a plus. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold valid NYS Certification in Music K-12 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Daily band and string instruction at the elementary level, grades 3-5 Recruit for and prepare band and orchestral ensembles in grades 3-5 that include weekly rehearsals and multiple public performances each year. Willingness to incorporate educational technology into the music classroom Commitment to a team-oriented approach throughout the district music department The Hicksville Public Schools music department has been recognized nationally by the NAMM Foundation as a “Best Communities for Music Education”.
