Description

Charles E. Riley Elementary seeks a dynamic Music Educator to be their K-6 General Music and Chorus Teacher. With a long tradition of musical excellence in the Oswego City School District, Riley Elementary has a history of outstanding grade-level choruses and excellent musical productions. Ideal candidates will bring a genuine enthusiasm for teaching music to children, a willingness to learn, and a dedication to work hard. The General Music Classroom at Riley is a musical smorgasbord of classroom instruments from ukuleles, boomwhackers, and recorders to world percussion and keyboards; the classroom also has a high quality digital piano, SmartBoard for interactive digital learning, and a spacious carpeted environment ideal for movement with Wenger choral risers ready for rehearsals! Grade-level choruses (3rd - 6th) rehearse weekly during the school day and perform two concerts per year: December and May. There is also a jr./kids musical production each year which is a true highlight of the program and something that the whole building and community looks forward to each year!
