4th & 5th Band Director

Description

This 4th and 5th Grade Band position includes: introducing 4th graders to the band instruments, recruiting, testing them on instruments/building a balanced band, teaching 4th grade small group lessons, 4th grade full band rehearsals beginning approximately in March, 5th grade small group lessons (split with a district band teacher), and 5th grade full band rehearsals. There are two 5th grade concerts each year (December and May) and one 4th grade concert (June). Additional opportunities for NYSSMA solo festival and All-County. Incredibly supportive school and community! Purpose: A teacher will have the primary responsibility of providing the students of the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District with a world-class, relevant education. Teachers will guide students in attaining the knowledge and skills necessary for success during their educational career as well as prepare our students to become college and career-ready after graduation. Teachers will help students learn the skills and attitudes necessary to achieve a responsible, productive, and fulfilling life in our changing world.
