Congratulations to all collegiate students on the completion of the 2024/2025 academic year and happy summer break! As we move forward preparing for a new year, here are a few updates from Collegiate NYSSMA:

On May 1st, 2025 the Collegiate NYSSMA Executive Board assumed new positions for the 2025-2026 term.
The names, positions, and contact information for each newly appointed officer can be found under the “Officers” tab.
The Executive Board is excited to begin building many new initiatives throughout the year. This will include increasing communication between collegiate students and continuing to increase the variety of professional development opportunities available to collegiate students.

April 2025

In April, the NYSSMA Collegiate Advisor, Dr. Koster, reviewed Executive Board applications for the 2025-2026 term. The 2024-2025 Collegiate Executive Board finished the year strong with multiple professional development events.

On April 24th-25th, Collegiate President Taylor Kelly and Collegiate President-Elect Sophie Wood attended the 2025 NAfME Eastern Division Conference in Hartford, CT.
Collegiate President Taylor Kelly collaborated on a presentation titled ‘Collegiate Chapter Engagement: Here’s How’.
Nazareth University School of Music hosted a Collegiate Music Education Symposium on Saturday, April 5th.

March 2025

Happy Spring! There are many collegiate events to look forward to in the spring of 2025.

On Sunday, March 30th from 12:00-1:00 Collegiate NYSSMA hosted a virtual session given by Valerie Massimo and Brent Chiarello titled ‘Crescendo to Success: Building a Resume to Land Your First Job’.
Collegiate Executive Board applications for the 2025-2026 term opened on March 1st and were submitted on March 25th. The new Executive Board members will be announced on May 1st!
