NORWICH CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The School District A Bold New Era at the Norwich City School District with Endless Possibilities……Come Join Us! Many educators have been disillusioned with the direction the educational pendulum has swung in the last few years. Unfortunately, politics and mandates have gotten in the way of good teaching, exciting classrooms and doing right by kids. The Norwich City School District has made a concerted effort to educate and support both our teachers and our students in the best practices that make the classroom an exciting place to teach and learn. We understand that there needs to be a balance between mandates, expectations, and the art of pedagogy in order to give our teachers a degree of autonomy and an understanding that they can make a difference in our students’ lives everyday. We believe that as long as teachers are provided with the right tools, an understanding of the best instructional practices, and the ability to build meaningful, strong relationships with students, all of our students will thrive.

We are seeking a 6-12 vocal music teacher to continue a tradition of excellence in a well-established choral program.  The Position Applicant must hold a certificate as a NYS Certified Teacher in Music (Grades K-12).  Additional responsibilities include Choral ensembles in grades 6-12, individual voice lessons; classroom instruction in Music In Our Lives and Music Theory at the high school level. Extra-curricular opportunities: select choral ensembles; involvement with the high school musical; NYSSMA; County Festivals; community performances. The outstanding candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership skills, excellence in choral conducting and an engaging classroom management style.

We are looking for the best and brightest educators to support our students and move the NCSD into a new and energizing era. We welcome new and veteran educators to join our team as we create and enhance an exceptional learning environment. If you are a person that will thrive under this type of setting and has a lot to give our young and flourishing students, please send your resume’, appropriate certifications and a cover letter explaining who you are and how you would enhance our mission. We would love to meet you!
