The Canandaigua Music Department is seeking a talented, outgoing, and passionate Music educator for a full time Orchestral Music teaching position starting September 2019. Specific responsibilities include directing two high school ensembles: “Chamber” and “Symphony” Orchestra, and small group orchestral lessons primarily at the 9-12 level, with some vertical lesson teaching at 6-8 as well. As with all teaching positions, additional opportunities for extra-curricular involvement exist as per interest: fiddle club, pit orchestra, guitar club, etc. Ideal candidates should be interested in sharing a community and departmental vision of Musical excellence! While experience is preferred, the ideal candidate should be a dynamic and energetic educator who is passionate about positively motivating students to reach their fullest musical potential. Collaborative skills, a team mentality, and musicianship of the highest order are essential qualifications. While we may be biased to some extent, we believe that this is a TRULY FANTASTIC opportunity if you are a string educator. If you are interested in knowing more about our school’s Music program and how you could be the next Canandaigua teacher to lead, motivate and inspire our students and community - please contact lead teacher Greg Kane (kaneg@canandaiguaschools.org) Qualified applicants must possess NYS Certification or be able to show the steps taken for reciprocity. Application and supporting materials must be submitted through the district's website: www.canandaiguaschools.org/jobs.cfm Follow the CA Music Department on Twitter: @CABravesMusic
