The Lèman Manhattan Preparatory School seeks a highly qualified, motivated music educator to teach elementary general music and violin. The ideal candidate will be positive, collaborative, creative, organized, and passionate about student learning. In addition, the candidate should be an effective communicator and a reflective practitioner. This is a full-time position that will begin in late August, 2018. Responsibilities include: ● Teaching music classes to all 1st-3rd grade students, combining general music and violin instruction (documented curriculum is in place) ● Teaching PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten general music classes ● Differentiating repertoire to meet varied student needs ● Coordinating rehearsals and concerts ● Directing after-school violin ensembles for 1st-5th grade students ● Regularly updating music curriculum ● Maintaining consistent communication with families ● Facilitating violin rental program ● Maintaining instruments/equipment and documenting inventory ● Being a collaborative, contributing team member of the Fine Arts vertical team and Lower School faculty


Desired Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in music education, Master’s preferred
● Experience in teaching both general music and violin
● Experience in teaching elementary students
● Familiarity with curriculum design
