Middle and Upper School Choral Program Piano Accompanist (Department of Music Faculty Member) Riverdale Country School is a PreK - 12th Grade day school in New York City that combines traditional and innovative practices to provide an excellent Liberal Arts learning environment. The Choral Program Piano Accompanist is a full faculty member of the Department of Music whose responsibilities include collaborating with the Music team and working closely with the Choral director to support vocal ensembles in the Middle and Upper School. The successful candidate has a good command of vocal music repertoire, is a proficient performer, a competent sight-reader, has expertise reading an open vocal score, and instantaneous transposition skills. Familiarity with applications such as Voice Memos for iOS and or digital audio workstations such as Soundtrap or GarageBand is a plus. A formal audition is a prerequisite. All candidates for employment at Riverdale should demonstrate an interest in engaging students in an environment that is both supportive and rigorous and will participate in community activities, including advising groups, service opportunities, or other co-curricular programs. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters and Doctoral degree holders will receive additional consideration.
