Welcome to the Zone 13 (Nassau County) web page. As your Zone Rep it is my responsibility to oversee all NYSSMA activities in the Zone, and also to represent the needs and concerns of our Zone to the Executive Council. Teachers, please make sure your membership is up to date and please sign up to adjudicate at our festivals. The success of our festivals is dependent upon your ability to help us continue to provide the best adjudication process anywhere.

To find information on Nassau County festivals or which area a particular school is part of, please look at the files below or go to the NMEA (Nassau Music Educators Association) web site. You can do this by clicking on the link above. If you need to contact me it is best to do so by email to the address above.
Parents with NYSSMA problems or concerns should contact their child’s school music teacher and/or music administrator prior to contacting me. I have found that, in most cases, situations can be resolved within the school districts more quickly and effectively. If you are unsuccessful resolving your issue or finding an answer to your question, then send an e-mail to me at the address above.
The Current NYSSMA Manual is Volume 31.
Be sure that you are using the current NYSSMA Manual marked “Effective July 2015”. This latest edition has been updated to include many new pieces and it has eliminated many works which are no longer in print. In addition, there have been some changes to the Rules and Regulations. Please be sure to review these changes and make sure that students prepare pieces which are listed in this current edition of the manual.
